The majestic spirit of the Clydesdales is a fitting subject for this year's Membership Stein "Born to Greatness." The story of Mike, a Clydesdale who is destined to become a member of the World Famous Budweiser^® Clydesdales Hitch Team, is chronicled in exceptional full color illustrations, combined with beautifully detailed ceramic relief.

The journey begins with Micaela, a Clydesdale mare, and her foal, Mike. At the center of this stein is an exquisite rendering of Micaela and Mike during his carefree days as a colt, roaming the fields at Grant's Farm with his mother by his side.

To the right of this illustration is a portrait of Mike as a young foal -- his fuzzy coat not yet a deep chestnut color, his body not yet fully prepared for his future as a hitch member. To the left is a depiction of an impeccably groomed Clydesdale hitch team member decorated in full parade dress -- representing Mike's next step to greatness. Each of these illustrations is perfectly framed by a massive horseshoe.

These outstanding illustrations are encircled by a series of horseshoes and red and white rosettes -- the crepe flowers worn by each hitch ember. The handle features a full color Clydesdale logo and delicately embossed vines. The pewter lid is etched with a series of Clydesdale figures and horseshoes, and is topped with a Clydesdale horsehead. The debossed thumbrest is in the shape of a rosette.

This remarkable 8 3/4" tall stein is a tribute to every Budweiser Clydesdale who one day proves he was "Born To Greatness.

     

This stein celebrates the 150th Anniversary of Anheuser-Busch. On one side is a portrait of Eberhard Anheuser, who purchased the Bavarian Brewery in 1852. The opposite side depicts Adolphus Busch, Anheuser's son-in-law. The bustling Anheuser-Busch brewery circa 1880 is featured in ceramic relief in the center of the stein. The pewter thumbrest features the famous "cork caution" proclaimed by Adolphus Busch: Caution See That Every Cork Is Branded Anheusers.

CS91 1988 Bud Summer Olympic Games Stein

This commemorative stein honors the athletes competing in the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul, South Korea. The relief stein depicts Olympic events including swimming, boxing and track and field. The blue band at bottom is decorated with shields from many of the countries that participated in the events. This stein also features a pewter lid with thumbrest.

1996 Indianapolis 500 stein. This 5 1/4" stein was made in Germany by Gerz. Features older race cars in 5 cameos on the stein. History of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway is found on bottom of the stein. Individually numbered.

The first stein in the A&Eagle Trademark Series of four remembers the famous Anheuser-Busch A&Eagle symbol dating from 1872-1885. The uniquely shaped stein, dramatically colored in black, has an antique design with richly colored trim and detailed relief. This edition was sold with a matching octagonal tin.

CS218 A&Eagle Trademark II Stein w/Tin

Second in the series of four, this stein continues the historical development of the A&Eagle logo. Featuring the logos of the 1890s, with the eagle's wings spread, this detailed relief stein marks the time period when Anheuser-Busch became America's leading brewery. This edition was sold with a matching octagonal tin.

CS238 A&Eagle Trademark III Stein w/Tin

The third stein in the series chronicles the evolution of the famous A&Eagle symbol over a period of almost 50 years. Three early versions of the logo are features: those used in the 1890s-1900s, 1910s and 1930s. The logos are displayed against black vignettes. This edition was sold with a matching octagonal tin.

A unique stein series comes to an end with this fourth and final edition. Three versions of the famous Anheuser-Busch A&Eagle logo are shown--those used during the 1930s, 1950s and 1970s. the design also features intricate patterns around the logos. Known around the world as a symbol of Anheuser-Busch, the A&Eagle appears in its first two versions on this richly detailed, 11 1/2" tall ceramic relief stein. The 1872 A&Eagle - the design first registered with the U.S. Patent Office - is shown on one side, while the 1886-1889 A&Eagle appears on the other.

CB26 Club Members Only Stein - 2003 Edition - "1890 & 1895-1898"

The well-known Anheuser-Busch A&Eagle appears in two 19th Century versions on the ceramic relief stein. The 1890 A&Eagle is featured on one side and the 1895-1898 A&Eagle on the other.

This stein series continues with a salute to the men and women of the U.S. Air Force. A detailed collage illustration, wrapping around the entire body of the stein, depicts the efforts of Air Force personnel. The seal of the U.S. Air Force is centered at the bottom of the stein and deeply etched in pewter on the thumbrest.

CB10 Membership Stein 1999 - "The Golden Age of Brewing, Circa 1898"

A look at the early years of brewing is recreated on this 1999 Membership Stein. An illustration of the Anheuser-Busch Brew House is flanked by beer bottles and an A&Eagle logo. The sides f the stein showcase the delivery aspect of the brewery -- steamboats and railroad cars. The handle is in the shape of the famous pocketknife used by Adolphus Busch as his calling card.

This tribute to the World Famous Budweiser^® Clydesdales displays a main illustration of a mighty Clydesdale hitch in full parade dress, with a deep hand-painted Clydesdale head on either side. A cameo of a Dalmation appears at the back of the stein.

CB21 Membership Stein 2002 - "Busch's Inn"

Built in 1914, Busch's Inn was the first restaurant opened by Anheuser-Busch. This stein recreates all the Inn's features -- stucco facade with exposed timbers, clapboard roof, stork's nest atop the roof and more. Neighborhood sights are also included, such as a livery and blacksmith's shop, homes, church steeples -- as well as residents and tradesmen, like the Budweiser deliveryman and Innkeeper.

CB7 Membership Stein 1998 - "Old World Heritage"

The subject of this exquisite Membership Stein is the legacy of quality beer brewing at Anheuser-Busch and the people who made it possible. Three full color illustrations depict early workers who contributed to the brewing process. Surrounding the artwork is delicate scrollwork in ceramic relief. The rising pewter lid is etched with a hop and barley motif.

This second edition features a mother playing with her four cubs, with three elders of the pack lazily observing the action from the shade nearby. The stein's pewter lid is etched with a series of running wolves and features a ceramic inlay displaying a full-color close-up of a gray wolf.
